Polyethylene 3 stripes

Descripción

LOGO POLIETILENO 3 L

Plastiducto S.A. is the first company in Uruguay with more than 50 years of experience in producing low density polyethylene pipes (LDPE). Our products are distinguished by 3 parallel stripes, they are manufactured with the best raw materials and differentiated from others for their excellent quality.

These pipes are extensively used in agriculture and water distrubution nets. Each use has its own type of pipe recognizable for the colour of the 3 stripes:

3 yellow stripes – for general purposes, named LDPE “3 STRIPES”
3 green stripes for agriculture, named “AGRODUCTO”

Main characteristics

  • Manufactured with low density polyethylene (LDPE) virgin.

  • Inch series.

  • Operating temperature up to 40º C.

  • High flexibility..

  • Supplied in coils up to 200 meters.

  • Additivated with carbon black to protect it from UV rays.

  • Resists flattening 100%.

  • Joint system through spigot fittings.

Applications

LOGO POLIETILENO 3 L LOGO AGRODUCTO
  • Transport of fluids (with or without pressure)

  • Drinkable water distribution

  • Feeding of Australian tanks and drinkers.

  • Different applications whenever flexibility and easy manipulation are required.

  • Agricultural applications: watering, irrigation, pump, and watering places.

  • All the same as the Polyethylene 3 stripes.

Advantages

As a result of the resin’s physical properties, such as Melt Flow, density, molecular weight distribution, and excellent homogeneity, our pipes have better mechanical resistance which leads to a better performance in every area. Their sizes go from ½ ” to 3″ as in UNIT 137. AGRODUCTO 3 Green Stripes is designed with thinner walls than 3 Yellow Stripes, so it has to be used with lower pressure demands. See Table of Properties.

  • Lightweight, they are easy to transport and manipulate.

  • More flexibility: they adapt better to ground’s conditions.

  • Improved resistance to Ultraviolet rays, they can be installed on the ground, exposed to direct sunlight.

  • High resistance to impact.

  • Resists 100% flattening (without breaking).

  • Does not pollute drinkable water.

  • Does not allow the formation of crust.

  • Does not get corroded.

  • More economic and safer installations are obtained with less possibilities of leaking due to the few number of joints needed.

  • Less pressure losses due to smooth internal surfaces.

  • Pipes are presented in coils of different length

  • Long Lifespan (at least 50 years) guaranteed by security coefficients used when designing the pipes

Resistance to the weather elements
Low density polyethylene pipes (“3 Stripes”) are protected against the degradation by ultraviolet rays (UV) due to the addition of carbon black when manufactured. However, it is recommended to bury the pipes, in order to avoid this attack factor.

JOINT METHODS

Low Density Polyethylene Pipes 3 stripes are easy to install, as they are compatible with plastic, iron, and bronze spigot fittings.

How to connect them:

a) Heat the end of the pipe with boiling water.

b) Insert the pipe end in the selected fitting up to its end.

c) Reinforce the union with a clamp.
