Since our very first steps we are the company leader in extrusion for Uruguay. The city council of Montevideo approved our first pipes in the 50’s, and our registered mark PLASTIDUCTO, identified by its three parallel stripes, has become the name of the plastic pipe and a synonymous of quality and confidence.
In the late 70’s we incorporated more complex technologies, high density polyethylene and large diameters, which permitted us to project to foreign markets.
Our history
Every country has its founding myths. For us, myth means something that, more than just a story, becomes a fundamental truth that guides the future. In Uruguay, industry is an essential part of that myth, and for more than sixty years we have contributed to the construction of the country with work, innovation, and quality.
Three generations have upheld this legacy, always with the conviction of delivering reliable products and services, and with the goal of bequeathing to future generations a solid company that is constantly evolving.
Since our inception, we have positioned ourselves as the leading company in pipe and profile extrusion in Uruguay. In the 1950s, the Municipality of Montevideo approved the first locally manufactured pipes, and our registered trademark PLASTIDUCTO, identified by its three parallel lines, became synonymous with quality and trust.
In the late 1970s, we incorporated new lines of high-density polyethylene pipes with large diameters, which allowed us to expand internationally. Today, our Uruguayan PLASTIDUCTO products are installed in projects in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Congo (Equatorial Africa), and the Uruguayan Antarctic Base, reaching these latter emblematic destinations thanks to OSE.
In 2003, we certified our Quality Management System under ISO 9001 for the “Design, manufacture, and marketing of polyethylene, polypropylene, and PVC pipes, profiles, and fittings,” guaranteeing standards of excellence.
With the aim of continuing to meet market needs, in 2015 we incorporated equipment to carry out certification tests based on national and international standards, which enabled us to achieve certification in 2016 for the first polyethylene pipes for water under the UNIT-ISO 4427 standard.
In 2017, we inaugurated our current industrial plant and logistics center, with more than 10,000 m² of covered space and a large outdoor storage area, allowing us to grow with greater efficiency and competitiveness. That same year, we certified Plastifusión polypropylene pipes for cold and hot water under the UNIT-ISO 15874 standard.
In 2019, we achieved a new milestone with the certification of polyethylene pipes for gas under the UNIT-ISO 4437 standard, and in 2022, we achieved certification for polyethylene pipes for water supply in fire protection systems under the FM 1613 international standard.
Today, as yesterday, we strive to offer each customer not only quality products, but also personalized technical advice.
